Energy Policy Case Competition

The RES x NEX STEP XCHANGE 2025 Energy Policy Case Competition (E-PCC) invites passionate and forward-thinking students to tackle pressing energy policy issues in the DKI Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi region. This competition challenges participants to develop innovative policy recommendations through real-world analysis and strategic thinking, using case studies developed in partnership with DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Service (TKTE), ensuring that the proposed solutions are tailored to specific energy needs of the local area. The final stage will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of policymakers and key stakeholders in the energy sector. E-PCC is a team-based competition (2-3 members per team) designed to enhance participants' policy analysis, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making skills. By engaging with real-world energy challenges, participants will gain valuable insights and contribute to sustainable energy policy development in Indonesia.

Frequently Asked Questions

What language will be used?

All stages of the competition will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia.

What if one of our team members can't attend the final round offline?

The team will be disqualified from the competition.

What happens if we submit our paper late?

Submissions must be uploaded within the designated submission period as communicated by the committee. Any submission made after this period will result in immediate disqualification.

What happens if a team withdraws after registration?

Teams that withdraw after registration without a valid reason will be considered disqualified and ineligible for future SRE UI competitions. Please inform the committee as early as possible if your team cannot continue.

When will the case get distributed?

The case will be distributed via email to your team leader right after registration is completed. So, the earlier your team registers, the more time you will have to work on the case.

Can we revise our submission after uploading it?

Once submitted, files cannot be revised or re-uploaded, so please ensure your work is final before submitting.

Can the same person join more than one team?

No. Each participant can only register as part of one team to ensure fairness.

Will I receive a certificate for participating?

Even if you don't make it to the finalist, you and your team will still receive a participation certificate.

Does the originality statement need to be signed on stamp duty (materai)?

No, it doesn't. The originality statement only needs to be signed by all team members without the need for a stamp duty.

Will there be a coordination group?

Yes. Upon registering, there will be a link to join a Whatsapp group to coordinate upcoming deadlines and information regarding the competition.

What should I do if I have more questions regarding the competition?
